Through the meta major, you’ll begin with introductory courses shared across several programs so you can compare different business majors while earning credits that count toward graduation. As you learn more about fields such as accounting, marketing, finance and management, you’ll meet regularly with an academic advisor who can help you decide which area fits with the experience gained in the introductory courses..

Northwest’s business meta major brings together related business programs that share foundational coursework. Rather than selecting a specific program immediately, you’ll begin with classes that introduce key areas of business, such as accounting, marketing and economics.
This approach gives you time to compare business majors, build a broader understanding of the field and move toward a decision while continuing to make progress toward your degree.
As you begin the business meta major, you’ll take introductory courses that are common across several programs in the Metaelvin D. & Valorie G. Booth School of Business. These classes give you a broad introduction to how businesses operate and the concepts behind decision-making across the field.
