Sometimes we need to try things out before we know what we're interested in. That's why we offer the meta-major! If you think this is you, keep reading.
The meta-major proves you don't have to know exactly what you want to do right off the bat. Sometimes we need to learn a bit more before we make a commitment, and that's okay! Some students know exactly which field they want to pursue, and others don't. You may be surprised to learn that each year, about 15 percent of our incoming freshmen and a number of transfer students begin as deciding students!
We're here to help you discover your passion. All Northwest deciding students are offered a professional advisor to help navigate the career exploration and class selection process. You'll also learn a little bit more about yourself, including your skills, abilities, interests, values and needs!
You may be wondering how this works. Sadly, we don't have enough time to dive deep into every single subject. (We wish we could!) We can, however, give you four meta-majors to choose from. Specializations include sciences, business, education and university studies.
