Every student pays a Wellness Fee as part of their Northwest tuition. This fee helps cover clinical office visits, co-pays, counseling sessions, health education, and wellness programming. Some services may include additional charges, which can be confirmed directly with Wellness Services.
While the Wellness Fee supports basic care, students are strongly encouraged to maintain personal health insurance. It’s important for families to understand their coverage and how to use it while the student is at Northwest. If you have questions about how your plan works with University Wellness Services, contact your insurance provider for details.
Northwest does not assume responsibility for students’ personal belongings. Items brought to campus are the student’s responsibility. We recommend reviewing any coverage offered by your family’s homeowner or renter insurance — many policies cover a full-time student’s belongings while they live in a residence hall. If yours does not, consider purchasing separate property insurance.
Students are also responsible for insuring any University-issued notebook computers against theft, fire, and water damage.
