Connecting Bearcats. Empowering communities.
Welcome to the Center for Engagement and Community Connection (CECC) at Northwest Missouri State University — a vibrant hub for collaboration, learning and growth. Open to all students, faculty and staff, the Center serves as a bridge between the campus and the broader community, creating meaningful opportunities for engagement that foster a sense of belonging, purpose and leadership. Through dynamic programming that encourages dialogue, cultural immersion, cross-campus collaboration and social responsibility, we cultivate a culture of connection, learning and active citizenship where every Bearcat can thrive.
The Student Achievement Reception is a free, hallmark celebration of the academic semester. In collaboration with International Involvement Center, the event hosts families, friends, faculty, staff and the community to celebrate graduating students from all multicultural and underrepresented backgrounds. The program presents cultural stoles, recognizes student involvement and reflects on their experiences at Northwest.
Hors d'Oeuvres and desserts provided.
Jump Start is a peer mentoring program that connects students with similar backgrounds, interests and perspectives. Students are paired with a mentor during their first academic year to provide friendship, guidance and support as they navigate the college experience. The Center for Engagement and Community Connection is seeking mentors for the 2025-26 academic year.
