Frequently Asked Questions

What is Workday?

Workday is the new all-in-one system Northwest is implementing to serve human resources tasks, payroll, budgeting, class registration and more — all in one place. It is cloud-based, mobile-friendly and designed for modern campuses like ours.

Why Workday?

Workday will revolutionize the student and employee experience at Northwest by delivering a modern, intuitive mobile friendly platform.

It will optimize how we work, by streamlining processes, improving data integrity and enabling real-time decision making. It also will align our systems — integrating finance, human resources, payroll and student services into a single, cohesive platform.

Using Workday helps Northwest drive innovation and sustainability to strengthen the University experience for Bearcats.

What are the benefits of Workday?

Workday unifies finance, human resources, payroll and student data — creating a seamless experience for the entire Bearcat community.

With real-time data and intuitive dashboards, users can make faster, more informed decisions that support student success and strategic growth.

Additionally, Workday Student puts students first — with a mobile-friendly, self-service experience that makes it easier than ever to register for classes, manage financial aid and track academic progress.

Workday’s cloud technology means we’re always up to date, with built-in security and compliance — no manual updates or system downtime required.

As Northwest continues to grow and evolve, Workday gives us the flexibility to adapt — supporting innovation and continuous improvement across campus.

How will this benefit students?

Northwest students will experience easier registration, clearer financial aid info, and real-time updates. Students will be able to handle most tasks on their phone.

How will this benefit employees?

Workday will help Northwest streamline processes for time sheets, budgeting, hiring, approvals and more — leaving less paperwork and more time for work that matters.

Will there be training?

Absolutely. Northwest will offer step-by-step guides, videos and support for all employees and students. Stay tuned for the types of training we'll offer, what the courses will cover and when you can expect training.
