Mac iOS is one of the approved operating systems on campus and the Office of Information Technology provides instructions on basic Mac iOS tasks to help students get connected and use campus online services like networked printers.

Personal File Storage on Catbert

Faculty and staff currently have 2 gigabytes of personal file storage on Northwest's Catbert server beyond their OneDrive storage via Office 365 (Northwest Email).  To access your folder on your Mac, do the following:

  • Open Finder.
  • Click Go in the very upper bar at the top of the screen.
  • Click Connect to Server…
  • If you are a Staff member
    • In the server address textbox type: smb://catbert.nwmissouri.edu/staff/your username
    • Examplesmb://catbert.nwmissouri.edu.edu/staff/JSmith
  • If you are Faculty member
    • In the server address textbox type: smb://catbert.nwmissouri.edu/faculty/your username
    • Examplesmb://catbert.nwmissouri.edu/faculty/JDoe
  • If you want this Mac to remember this address click the “+” button by the textbox.
  • Click Connect and your files should appear in the Finder window
  • If you want to keep your Catbert personal storage folder permanently in your Finder window, do the following:
    • Make sure that you are in your Catbert folder.
    • Go the very upper bar at the top of the screen and click File.
    • Click Add to Sidebar.
