Reduced-cost Housing

High Rise Introduction

Millikan Hall houses our reduced-cost housing and food plan option for students. Students can save up to $700 in housing costs.

To qualify for reduced-cost housing:

  • A student must be pell-eligible.
  • Limited spaces available.
  • To assist each student’s ability to pay the majority of their room and board fees, a student employment job placement effort will be made by Northwest. On-campus jobs will be available but not guaranteed for all applicants. Employment is not required to live in this hall.

Location: Northwest corner of campus near The Station, B.D. Owens Library and Wellness Services.

The More You Know

  • Each floor shares a bathroom consisting of sinks, mirrors and several toilet and shower stalls for privacy.
  • Air conditioning available.
  • Free use of washers and dryers located in the hall's basement laundry room.
  • Community style kitchen consisting of two stovetop ovens, microwaves and sinks.
  • Halls are secured 24/7 with an electronic access system.
  • Free Wi-Fi access in hall and room.
  • Students living on the same floor have the same gender, but they may live above or below another floor with a different gender.
  • Only fish allowed as pets.
  • Lounge on each floor.
  • Recreation area includes ping pong table, lounge and TV. Sand volleyball court nearby next to Millikan Hall.
  • Provided furniture includes loftable beds (with rentable loft kit), built-in closet, dresser and desk with chairs.
  • Halls have elevator access.
  • Access to networked laser printer located at hall front desk.

  • Windows: 37.5" (W) x 51.5" (H)
  • Ceiling: 8' 1" high
  • Desk: 30.75" high
  • Door: 31.75" (W) by 84" (H)
  • Mattress 76" long (regular twin sheets will fit)
  • Lofts: Student constructed lofts are allowed
  • Movable furniture: bunkable beds
  • Fixed furniture: closet, dresser, desk

Notes: These are measurements of typical rooms; rooms vary slightly. All furniture must remain in the room. There is no additional space for storage.

Whether you’re craving a late-night snack or a delicious meal on campus, we’ve got you covered. The J.W. Jones Student Union houses several stations to fit your nutritional needs. This is also the perfect place to catch up and grab a bite to eat with friends!

Beginning fall 2023, we’re welcoming Chick-fil-A, McAlister’s Deli, Qdoba and MrBeast Burger in the J.W. Jones Student Union, Starbucks in the B.D. Owens Library and Buffalo Wild Wings in The Station (in 2024). 

Whoever said college food isn’t good clearly hasn’t visited Northwest!
