Northwest Missouri State University Career Services will continue to provide students with networking, career development and mock interview opportunities this spring to help students gain real-world experience before they enter the workforce.
In addition to networking events, Career Services assists students with job and internship searches, résumé and cover letter help, networking tips and interview preparation. Career Services can guide students on where to look for employment and how to approach employers.
Career Services events and resources are available to all Northwest students – no matter their major or academic level.
“Career Services events are designed to help students develop skills like interviewing and networking with employers in real-time, low-risk settings,” Hannah Christian, the director of Career Services, said. “The more a student practices interviewing or chatting with employers at Career Day, the more comfortable they become with that skill and in that environment. Then, in longer-term situations, they can fall back on to those skills in different jobs and roles.”
Learn more about Career Services resources and events below, or visit the Career Services office located on the first floor of B.D. Owens Library between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Career Services offers Mock Interview Days with different academic majors to provide interview experience closely related to their interests.
Students should reserve an interview time by visiting www.nwmissouri.edu/career/events/mid.htm. Mock Interview spots are based on employer availability and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must submit a résumé at least one week before the event.
Career Services offers Meet the Pros events for various majors and career fields. The event is designed for students to build connections and ask questions of professionals in their fields of interest.
This spring, Career Services will offer a Meet the Pros session for students interested in business at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom.
