Alpha Psi Omega

Alpha Psi Omega is a national honor society for students majoring in Theatre. Membership is based on production activities and academic excellence. Among its many other activities, the group sponsors the annual touring Children's show and donates the proceeds to charity.

Art Club and Art Association

The Art Association is a student-run organization designed to provide students with additional educational opportunities in the arts outside of the classroom. Membership is open to any student interested in participating and promoting an artistic community. To maintain active status in the Art Association, members must maintain at least a 2.00 cumulative GPA, attend monthly meetings and participate in Art Association-sponsored activities.

Art Education Club

The purposes of the Art Education Club are to provide a smooth transition from art education preparation to professional practice, to raise and maintain a high standard of quality art education on campus and the surrounding area, to gain greater insight and perspective about the teaching of art and contemporary concepts in art education, to sponsor service projects, to promote an exchange of ideas in art education and to recruit and enlist future art teachers. Art Education Club members participate in a variety of fundraising activities each school year. Funds raised are used to support the Art Education Club Scholarship Fund and to support other Art Education Club activities such as attendance at state and national art education conferences, guest speakers and service projects. Membership is open to anyone interested in art education.

Clay Club

The Clay Club is a student organization for ceramics students who are intermediate and advanced level students. Clay Club supports Ceramics Studio events at Northwest, co-curricular activities beyond campus such as field trips to regional ceramics shows, symposia or lectures, and field trips to regional ceramic artists’ studios and galleries. Clay Club also gives ceramics students the opportunity to sell their works to offset tuition and/or art materials costs.

Future Speech/Theatre Educators of Northwest

Future Speech/Theatre Educators of Northwest provides support, information, and social opportunities for students pursuing a B.S.ED. in Speech/Theatre. The group produces plays and workshops for the university community and is active with area secondary schools.

Kappa Kappa Psi - Kappa Delta

Kappa Kappa Psi is a fraternal organization that promotes the advancement of college and university bands through dedicated service and support to bands; comprehensive education; leadership opportunities; and recognition for the benefit of its members and society.

NAƒME (National Association for Music Education)

NAƒME was founded in 1907 when 104 music supervisors from school districts in 16 states answered an invitation to take part in a special conference for school music supervisors in Keokuk, Iowa. Today, NAƒME has more than 130,000 members involved at all levels of music education from preschool through college and in all areas of music education, including general music, chorus, band, orchestra, mariachi, and music teacher education. As such, NAƒME is the largest national association dedicated to the advancement of music education and to professional growth opportunities for its members.

University Players

Open to any student interested in theatre, University Players produce up to eight plays per year in the Lab Series. These shows are designed and directed by students. The group also attends national conventions where they learn about the latest developments in theatre and meet students and professors from other colleges and universities.

United States Institute Theatre Technology (USITT)

USITT keeps performing arts technical professionals in touch with today's rapidly changing scene by fostering a free exchange of ideas and information regarding theatre technology. USITT actively promotes research and investigation in performing arts technology. It is a national organization with an international association.
