I was a Language Arts teacher at Nebraska City Jr. High from 1975-1979. Upon moving to St. Paul, MN with my husband Pat to take a job with 3M, I taught English part time at Mahtomedi High School while raising our three children. When our youngest went into second grade, I returned to full time teaching and taught in the school district for 26 years. Nine years ago, when my husband took a job in St.. Louis, MO, and we moved there, I supervised student teachers through Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. I then taught GED classes at St. Charles Community College both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I retired three and a half years ago when my first grandchild was born, and I am loving retirement!
I made so many friends in college, especially through my sorority, Delta Zeta. I have such fond memories of those times and also of all the fraternity events (AKL) that I participated in with my boyfriend at the time (later my husband). I also had wonderful professors that I will never forget, especially Dr. Jewett and Dr. Slater from the English department and Dr. Maxwell from the Geology department. They were also so supportive of me and my work, and were wonderful human beings as well as teachers.
