Utility Disruption Week
As Northwest enters the third phase of its Infrastructure Modernization Project this summer, and in anticipation of the demolition of the Power Plant, the University will limit electrical power and network access to parts of the campus from Saturday, May 16, through Thursday, May 21. During that time, the main electrical service connected to the Power Plant will be relocated to another permanent exterior location.
The following campus locations will have power and network access:
- Agricultural Learning Center
- Athletic Grounds Building
- Bearcat Stadium
- Custodial Services Center
- Michael L. Faust Center for Alumni and Friends
- Facility Services West Building
- Facility Services Capital Building
- Forest Village Apartments complex
- Horticulture Complex
- Dean L. Hubbard Center for Innovation
- Materials Distribution Center
- Jon T. Rickman Electronic Campus Support Center,
- Temporary office buildings in Lot 27 (Restrooms accessible in the McKemy Center for Lifelong Learning)
- University Police Department
- Wellness Center
All other buildings not listed above will be without electrical power and network access. Employees or students should not be inside buildings without electrical power.
Affected employees should work with their supervisors to conduct job responsibilities in other campus locations or, when necessary, coordinate with their supervisors to transition to approved temporary remote work arrangements.
For more information in advance of the electrical shutdown, contact Facility Services at 660.562.1183. Employees needing access to impacted buildings should contact University Police at 660.562.1254.
