It's hard to know if the information we receive can be trusted or not. Understanding where our news comes from, how it's checked, and who benefits from misinformation are all key parts of being savvy media consumers. This isn't clickbait find out how the news is made and how you can make smart choices about what and who to trust.
The Ask Valk Anything series invites faculty and community experts to answer your questions about current events and issues of interest to college students. These hour-long panel discussions will bring multiple disciplinary perspectives to complex issues and facilitate open conversation between students, faculty and community members.
The Ask Valk Anything series is start at 6 p.m. in Valk 118. This semester's themes are:
