Candidate Forum, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences: Dr. Robin Gallaher
Northwest has scheduled forums with three candidates who are finalists to be the institution’s next dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
The dean of the College of Arts and Sciences serves as the College’s chief academic and administrative officer. The person is charged with ensuring the College’s academic programs, research, faculty development and student outcomes are of the highest quality while strategically allocating resources to advance the College’s mission. The dean leads and collaborates with others on student enrollment, retention, graduation, assessment and accreditations. The dean also serves as the chief external representative of the College to the broader community, including donors and alumni.
The open forums with each candidate are scheduled from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. in Room 117 of the Valk Center and offered via Zoom. All Northwest employees are invited to attend.

Dr. Robin Gallaher has served as chair of the Department of Language, Literature and Writing at Northwest since 2019 and joined its faculty in 2003. Before coming to Northwest, she was a lecturer of writing and rhetoric at the University of Central Arkansas and served as an instructor at Ohio University.
She has a Ph.D. in composition and TESOL from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in English, with emphasis in composition and rhetoric, from Ohio University, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas State University.
