Percussion Ensemble concert
Northwest’s Percussion Ensemble will present a fall concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. It is free and open to the public.
The Percussion Ensemble, conducted by Dr. William Alderman, will perform works, including John Cage’s “Living Room Music,” Shane Roderick’s “Antiq,” John Alfieri’s “Tambourine Fanfare,” Marc Mellit’s “Red, Mvmt, 1,” Nebosja Jovan Zikovic’s “Trio Per Uno,” Robert Marino’s “Eight on 3 and Nine on 2,” Will Alderman’s “The Beginning of the End of the World” and Nigel Westlake’s “Omphalo.”
The concert will feature a tambourine ensemble; an ensemble comprised of toms, bongos and bass drums; a marimba quartet and a mallet ensemble.
Shane Roderick, a percussionist based in Coral Gables, Florida, also will perform as a guest artist. Roderick is an active composer, educator and performer with notable performances such as the 2022 Great Plains International Marimba Competition and the 2019 PASIC All-Star Ensemble.
