Locate Your Northwest Login

You will receive two emails from noreply@nwmissouri.edu, one with your username and one with your password. With this information, you can set up your Northwest email account.

Financial (supporting documentation)

After being granted admission at Northwest, students are asked to provide financial documents to support themselves while in the United States. Financial resources include but are not limited to bank statements, bank certification letters, and/or education loan sanction letters. Northwest needs the required Financial document and Northwest Statement of Support signed by your sponsor if the bank account is not in your name. Additional resources can be found in Study in the States—Financial Ability. This is the final step before receiving your I-20.

Fulfill Immigration Requirements (F-1 VISA Applicants Only)

After you have received your I-20, you are ready to apply for your F-1 student visa.

Students must now locate the most convenient US embassy or Consulate, fill out the DS-160, pay the affiliated fee, and pay the I-901 fee. When getting ready to travel to the US Embassy, students must make sure they have all supporting evidence.

Enrollment

Once you have received your passport back from the US Embassy with the visa inside, it is important to regularly check your new Northwest email.

A Northwest academic advisor will contact you about selecting your classes and building your schedule for the semester you are applying. If you are a graduate student, you will meet with your academic advisor when you arrive on campus and enroll in classes.

University Wellness Center

After you receive your visa, you will receive an email from the University Wellness Center with the required health history forms and appointment information.

Pre-departure / Check-in

Northwest offers international students a platform, called the IIC portal, designed to help them navigate their journey as international students. Similarly to your Northwest email address, the IIC portal is to be checked regularly.

Before traveling to campus, you will need to complete the pre-departure form as well as reserving your FREE shuttle from the Kansas City Airport to campus.

Northwest is committed to making your travel journey as pleasant as possible. When you land at the Kansas City Airport, after picking up your suitcase, look for the Northwest table where a Northwest staff member will be to welcome you.

Orientation

International Student Orientation is a few days prior to the first day of classes. Orientation is designed to help acclimate students to campus through speakers and fun events.
