Our Approach to Care

While remaining committed to quality outpatient care, we focus on wellness not only as a means of preventing disease, but as a way of life.  We believe that individuals are an integration of mind, body, and spirit and our approach to healthcare involves treating the whole person, not just the illness or injury.  We do this by providing our students with quality medical care, education, and empowerment in taking responsibility for their own health and wellness.

Insurance and Billing

Wellness Services will file your insurance for all services provided in our clinic.  We submit claims to all insurance carriers, except out of state Medicaid, and we encourage you to reach out to your insurance carrier to verify your network status.

All Northwest students pay a designated wellness fee that supports Wellness Services' operation.  Because this fee is in place, Wellness Services does not balance-bill students for Office Visit charges (which includes consultation, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations only), or collect a co-pay.  Students are responsible for charges associated with procedures, lab work, injections, and/or medications that are not covered by their insurance.  These charges will be applied to your University account, and can be paid as part of your monthly bill.  Wellness Services provides clinical care to all students, including those that do not have insurance.  If you do not have insurance, Wellnes Services will apply procedure, lab work, injections, or medication charges to your University account, as described above.
