Veteran Students


Northwest Missouri State University is proud to be approved by the Veterans Administration as a training facility for veterans and eligible persons. The office of Veterans Affairs, located on the second floor of the Administration Building in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Assistance room 273, coordinates services to more than 100 veterans attending classes and receiving veteran benefits.

The Office of Veterans Affairs acts as a direct liaison between Northwest Missouri State University and the Veterans Administration Regional Office in St. Louis regarding payment of benefits.

Veterans may obtain the following services: certification on enrollment for education benefits; tutorial assistance; referrals for financial; vocational and academic counseling; work study; information about changes to legislative regulations affecting veterans; and information about Northwest procedures.

Activity Schedule

  • Monthly coffee gathering
    • First Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Veterans Commons area on the first floor of Valk
  • 5, Mud Run, Pack Run
  • Volunteer activities
  • Team-building activities

Show-Me GOLD

Northwest Missouri State University is a part of the Show-ME GOLD program offering college students the opportunity for professional development to become officers in the Missouri Army National Guard.
