Those students who are interested in studying writing beyond the general education requirement are encouraged to pursue a Minor in Writing, B.A. in Writing or B.S. in Writing. Students who have selected a minor or major other than English, but would like to take additional writing classes, may choose to take a writing class as an elective.
Students from all majors are welcome in our classes, and our writing classes are usually composed of students from a variety of disciplines.
In fact, many other majors require or accept English 311 (Advanced Composition) or English 315 (Technical Writing) as part of their own course requirements.
Our undergraduate non-general education writing courses include:
English 304 | Rhetorical Writing |
English 311 | Advanced Composition |
English 315 | Technical Writing |
English 403 | English Grammars |
English 420 | Publication Skills (topic varies by semester) |
English 430 | Writing for the Online Age (topic varies by semester) |
English 495 | Internship in Writing and Research |
