Director of Alumni Relations

  • B.S. Broadcasting Major with Music Minor, Northwest Missouri State University, 1990

I grew up in the small town of Moravia, Iowa and started college at Northwest in 1986 where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting with a minor in music in 1990. I worked for the Northwest Missouri State University Admissions office for three years after graduation recruiting students in the St. Louis area. In October 2021, after 26 years working for the Boy Scouts of America in Nebraska, Maine and Erie, Pennsylvania, I was given the chance to move back to Mayville to work for my alma mater.

As Director of Alumni Relations in the Office of University Advancement located in the Michael L. Faust Alumni & Friends Center, I am involved in supporting the Alumni Chapters of the University, coordination of on campus and off campus alumni events and will provide support for the wonderful Northwest Alumni Board of Directors.

As a student at Northwest I participated in Celebration, Tower Choir, University Chorale, spun records at KDLX radio station and was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity. I enjoyed intermural sports and also worked for the University grounds department mowing lawns and shoveling snow. My wife, Polly, is a 1987 graduate of Northwest and she retired from teaching Music at Lone Jack, Missouri in 2018. She is originally from El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Polly and I shared the music department stage in college and we were lucky enough to become permanent dance partners when we married in 2018. In our free time we enjoy riding our motorcycle and visiting our three adult kids and the rest of our family in Maine, Iowa, and Missouri. We are extremely excited to be back in Northwest Missouri and look forward to reuniting with our Northwest Family and Friends.
