Highly professional productions, musicals at Northwest are the result of cooperation between the music department and the theatre department. The pictures you see here are from Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls , which had a cast of forty-two and played to sell-out crowds. As all our musicals, it was produced in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts, an outstanding theatre facility which seats 1100.
Northwest mounts a musical on alternate years. Most recently, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum was produced in March, 2004. Previous productions have included Bernstein's landmark musical, West Side Story, Tony award-winners The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady with guest star Noel Harrison, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel , and the Pulitzer Prize-winning How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.
