Missouri Teacher Development System is a framework designed to support teacher learning and career development alignment to the Missouri Educator Evaluation System and the MissouriLeadership Development System.
Since 1995, Teacher Academy has been DESE’s premier teacher development opportunity. Teacher Academy focuses on student engagement, instructional strategies, and reflection on practices that align with the Missouri State Teacher Standards. It is designed to provide participants with an intellectually stimulating opportunity to learn and collaborate with other highly committed teachers.
Teachers will engage in action research centered around their classrooms. TA is an eight-day program, which includes two state-wide meeting days with Dr. John Antonetti.
Support your professional growth as a mid-career teacher with Teacher Academy Year 2: Powerful Task Design. This program includes a statewide event featuring national expert John Antonetti and is designed for teachers seeking continuous professional improvement. Participants must complete the MTDS Teacher Academy before enrolling.
Teacher Academy Year 2 emphasizes key MTDS Competencies, including engaging in ongoing reflective practice, developing research-based instruction, and understanding and promoting the profession.
Join the Instructional Coach Academy, part of the Missouri Teacher Development System (MTDS), designed to develop instructional coaches as leaders of learning. Grounded in the work of John Antonetti and other coaching frameworks, this academy equips coaches with practical tools and strategies to elevate teaching and learning through relationship-building, reflective dialogue, and systems thinking.
