Northwest Missouri State University students of all majors and levels are invited to audition for the School of Fine and Performing Arts’ Mainstage and student-directed Lab Series productions being staged this fall.
Theatre Northwest’s 2026-27 season begins with “A Fall Evening of One-Acts,” Sept. 17-19. The fall schedule continues Oct. 1-4 with the annual First-Year Showcase, “Snapshot,” and “The Importance of Being Earnest,” Nov. 12-15.
The season also includes “A Spring Evening of One-Acts,” Feb. 11-13, and “Cry-Baby: The Musical,” April 1-4.

Receive information about signing up for audition times and what to expect while meeting other students interested in theatre at Northwest. Attend even if you cannot stay for the entire meeting.
Students can audition for all fall semester shows at one time by presenting two contrasting monologues, each about one minute long. Auditioning students can indicate on their audition form which productions they wish to be considered. Materials will be available at the auditions for students without prepared monologues, though prepared and memorized pieces are recommended.
Callbacks for “Snapshot” are 6:30 to 9 p.m. Readings from the scripts will be provided. Students will be notified in advance via email if they receive a callback and must be present at 6:30 to be considered for a role.

Callbacks for the “A Fall Evening of One-Acts” will be Aug. 29-30. Specific times will be announced at general auditions. Students will be notified in advance via email if they receive a callback for one or more of the four one-act plays.
