Compensation Framework

Salary ranges will be classified using the minimum, midpoint and maximum of the pay range.

Compensation framework

Each year, the Office of Human Resources will evaluate market data to monitor market fluctuations. These reviews are designed to ensure that compensation remains competitive with the external market and internally equitable, based on role responsibilities and institutional priorities.

CUPA market ranges will be updated every three years, based on sustainability and not to exceed five years.

Compensation will be guided by:

  • CUPA-HR (College and University Professional Association for Human Resources) benchmark data for comparable roles in public higher education
  • Enrollment and census trends
  • Position responsibilities and scope of work
  • Institutional budget capacity
  • Internal salary alignment within departments and classification
