Fall Admission | Spring Admission

Transfer Timeline for Fall Admission

September

  • Schedule a visit with Northwest's Campus Visit Coordinator by calling 800.633.1175 or register online. You can also register for Fall Transfer Student Visit Day, which takes place in October.
  • Apply for admission. You can apply by paper application or apply online.

October

  • Apply for admission if you haven't already.
  • Sign up for New Student Orientation.
  • Review and apply for Northwest Missouri State University's competitive scholarships. Information available with financial assistance.

November

  • Visit campus if you haven't already or register for Transfer Student Visit Day, which takes place in January.
  • Apply for admission if you haven't already.
  • Submit your housing contract along with $150 prepayment (refundable if canceled by June 1) if you plan to live on campus OR your commuter card if you plan to live off campus. Housing contracts are mailed to accepted students by the first of November. After November, they are mailed with the acceptance letter.

December

  • Apply for admission and competitive scholarships if you haven't already.

January

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Try to apply by March 1 and list the Northwest code, 002496.
  • Apply for student housing if you haven't already.
  • Attend Winter Transfer Student Visit Day.

February

  • If you haven't already, apply for financial assistance by completing the FAFSA.
  • Schedule a campus visit to Northwest if you haven't already done so.
  • Apply for student housing if you haven't already.
  • If you haven't already, visit campus or register for Spring Transfer Student Visit Day, which takes place in March.

March

  • Apply for student housing if you haven't already.
  • Respond to any request from Northwest to verify information submitted on the FAFSA application.
  • Attend Spring Transfer Student Visit Day.
  • Watch for invitation to New Student Preregistration.

April

  • Priority date for FAFSA is April 1.
  • Review financial aid and/or scholarship offers.
  • If you have been admitted, sign up for New Student Preregistration (dates in April, May and July). Click here to register.

May

June

July

  • Receive residence hall room assignment and roommate information if you chose to live on campus.

August

  • Attend General Registration for non-preregistered students.
  • Move in to your residence hall room if you are living on campus.
  • Attend Advantage.
  • Begin classes.

New Student Timeline for Spring Admission

September

  • If you have been admitted, sign up for New Student Preregistration.
  • Submit your housing contract along with $150 prepayment if you plan to live on campus OR your commuter card if you plan to live off campus.

November

  • If you haven't already, sign up for New Student Preregistration.
  • Attend New Student Preregistration.
  • Apply for student housing if you haven't already.

December

January

  • Attend General Registration for non-preregistered students.
