Two staff members complete Leadership Northwest program

Two staff members employed at Northwest Missouri State University have graduated from the spring 2024 cohort of Leadership Northwest Missouri, an annual program that brings together existing and emerging leaders from throughout a 19-county region to hone their leadership skills, explore regional issues and build connections.

Wes Rockwood, a web designer in the Office of University Marketing and Communication, and Shelby Wood, assistant director of admissions in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, joined 22 other participants representing organizations throughout northwest Missouri to engage with business, community and government leaders through panel discussions, presentations and experiences that survey needs, resources and opportunities within the region.

The cohort began with a two-day retreat in January at Conception Abbey and gathered monthly for daylong sessions in locations throughout the region. The series concluded with a July 16 graduation celebration in Jamesport.
