Northwest reports death of graduate student


Northwest Missouri State University is mourning one of its students who was found deceased on campus yesterday.

University Police were called at about 9 a.m. Thursday to the report of a deceased individual on the Northwest campus and identified him as Hemanth Yallanki, a graduate student from India in Northwest’s School of Computer Science and Information Systems.

The death is under investigation by the University Police Department. No foul play is suspected.

The University reminds the community that crisis counseling support is available by calling 988.
