Wellness Services, My SSP providing additional mental health resources

Northwest Missouri State University’s Wellness Services is now partnering with My Student Support Program (My SSP) to increase access to mental health resources for its students.

Northwest students can connect to My SSP for free, confidential emotional health and wellness support through the My SSP app, phone or website. Students can connect with the services anytime, anywhere and chat with experienced professional counselors 24/7, every day of the year.

My SSP provides support in a number of languages and works collaboratively with Wellness Services to provide comprehensive and continuous care to Northwest students. The app also provides health and wellness resources, including articles, assessments, podcasts, videos and virtual fitness sessions.

Students can gain access to resources by downloading the My SSP app and selecting Northwest Missouri State University as their school. The app is available for download by visiting www.nwmissouri.edu/wellness/.

In addition to the resources provided through the app, students may call the customized Northwest My SSP phone line at 1.855.521.2616 and connect with My SSP’s professional counseling staff.

Wellness Services, located on the northwest corner of the Maryville campus, also provides support to students during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Northwest’s partnership with My SSP is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of a fully funded financial assistance award totaling $35.6 million.
