The U.S. Senate on Thursday bestowed yet another honor on the Northwest Missouri State University men’s basketball team by unanimously passing a resolution commending the Bearcats on their 2022 NCAA Division II national championship.

The basketball team beat Augusta University, 67-58, on March 26 to cap a 34-5 season and win its fourth national title in last five full seasons. The Bearcats also became the first Division II men's basketball program to win three consecutive national titles.

U.S. Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley introduced the resolution celebrating the team’s season.
