Theatre Northwest announces auditions for fall productions


Northwest Missouri State University students of all majors are invited to audition for Mainstage and student-directed Lab Series productions for Theatre Northwest’s fall season. 

Theatre Northwest’s 2021-2022 season features six productions beginning with “A Fall Evening of One-Acts,” Sept. 10-11. The 31st annual Freshman/Transfer Showcase is Sept. 23-26 and features this fall’s first-year students performing world-premiere short plays and monologues written by Northwest students. “Clue,” Nov. 11-14 and Nov. 16-19, and the annual Alpha Psi Omega children’s show round out the fall schedule.

The spring schedule consists of ”A Spring Evening of One Acts,Feb. 18-19; “No Exit,” Feb. 24-27; and “The Imaginary Invalid,” April 13-16.

Students interested in auditioning as well as technical and crew positions for fall productions should attend an informational meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, in the lobby of the Studio Theatre at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.

Audition times and locations are provided below. Additional information about signing up for fall productions will be distributed at the meeting and posted to Theatre Northwest social media accounts at Facebook and Instagram.

Thursday, Aug. 19 
  • 6 p.m. – Freshman/Transfer Showcase callbacks, Studio Theatre
  • 6:30 p.m. – “A Fall Evening of One-Acts” callbacks (Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building, Rooms 108, 109, 200)
Friday, Aug. 20
  • 6 p.m. – “Clue” auditions, Studio Theatre
Saturday, Aug. 21 
  • 12:30 p.m. – “Clue” callbacks, Studio Theatre
