Do I keep or return my laptop?

Students not returning to Northwest, should return their laptop and stickered AC adapter with its cord to the Jon T. Rickman Electronic Campus Support Center on the Maryville campus before 5 p.m. Friday, May 14.

Students also may return laptops at Northwest-Kansas City (Suite 400, 6889 N. Oak Trafficway, in Gladstone) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 816.272.4621 for more information.

Students who cannot return their laptops to Northwest’s Maryville or Gladstone locations should use a UPS return label provided by the University to ship their laptop. To access the UPS return label, go to https://www.nwmissouri.edu/compserv/Laptops/index.htm and click Pickup/Return.

Laptops must arrive on the Northwest campus by Friday, May 14. To allow shipping time and meet the May 14 deadline, plan to ship the laptop before Tuesday, May 11. Shipping costs for packages shipped after that date will be paid by the student, and any laptops returned after May 14 will be assessed a non-returned laptop charge of $1,500; the charge will become a late fee once the laptop is returned, calculated at $20 per day.

Students returning to Northwest for fall courses, must be pre-registered for fall semester classes and maintain pre-registration during the summer to keep the laptop. Northwest’s $75 summer laptop fee will be waived for students who are not enrolled in summer coursework at Northwest and have pre-registered for fall. Failure to remain pre-enrolled for fall 2021 will result in a $1,500 non-returned laptop charge.

Students taking summer courses at Northwest, and paying tuition to Northwest may keep their laptop during the summer without being pre-registered for fall 2021.

To follow COVID-19 mitigation guidelines for social distancing, only the student returning or exchanging a laptop will be allowed to enter the Electronic Campus Support Center. Guests should remain in their vehicle or outside the building.
