Tourin’ Bearcats accepting reservations for Iceland in 2021

Northwest Missouri State University’s Tourin’ Bearcats, a travel program for alumni and friends, is now accepting reservations for its next tour to experience Iceland’s magical Northern Lights.

Highlights of the excursion, which is scheduled for Nov. 8-14, 2021, will include visits to the Blue Lagoon, the Vik seafront village, and Reykjavík, the capital and largest city of Iceland. Participants also will take a Northern Lights cruise, travel the Golden Circle, learn about Iceland’s history at the Thingvellir historic site and national park and the Skógar Museum, and take in the beauty of the Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls as well as the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, Skaftafell wilderness area and the Vatnajökull Glacier.

“The Tourin’ Bearcats travel program allows Bearcats to connect with one another while traveling to amazing locations and experiencing some of the world’s natural wonders,” Dr. Bob Machovsky, Northwest’s director of alumni relations and annual giving, said. “In addition to visiting exciting destinations such as Iceland, our trips allow for alumni and friends to form valuable bonds and reflect together on their pride for Northwest.”

Prices begin at $3,349 per person, and a $500 deposit is due at the time of reservation. The reservation deadline is May 9, 2021, and the final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.

The trip includes round trip airfare, transportation to and from Maryville to Kansas City, 10 meals and attractions.

Rates are based on double occupancy and departure from Kansas City International Airport and include taxes, fees and hotel transfers. Cancelation waiver and insurance are available for purchase. All rates are per person and subject to change.

Tourin’ Bearcats programs, which are sponsored by the Northwest Alumni Association, are available to the public. Reservations are limited.
