Jacque Loghry, the assistant director of TRIO Student Support Services at Northwest Missouri State University, has been appointed parliamentarian for MO-KAN-NE, a three-state regional chapter of the Educational Opportunity Association (EOA), which represents TRIO programs nationwide.

Loghry, who has been a member of the organization since 2001, will serve in the role during 2020-21.

Previously, she was a member of the MO-KAN-NE Members Involved in Leadership and Engagement (MILE) 2018-19 cohort. Loghry and other members participated in training and professional development sessions while creating a drive-in conference for MO-KAN-NE. Cohort members created a social justice and inclusion conference in the Kansas City area attended by more than 50 TRIO professionals. Northwest alumna, Dr. Precious Porras, director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Kansas, presented the conference keynote.

Loghry has worked in Northwest TRIO since 2001. A first-generation college student, she completed her bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1999 and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in management information systems in 2001, both at Northwest.

Since 1986, Northwest TRIO programs, which are federally funded, have promoted educational opportunities while assisting students in their personal journey of earning a higher education degree. Through its partnerships with surrounding communities, TRIO addresses the unique needs of academically capable individuals who are first-generation students and come from families with limited income.
