Theatre Northwest announces auditions for spring productions

Northwest Missouri State University students of all majors are invited to audition for Mainstage and student-directed Lab Series productions for Theatre Northwest’s spring season. 

Theatre Northwest’s 2018-2019 season continues with “A Spring Evening of One-Acts,” Feb. 8-9, 2019; “Love Letters” by A.R. Gurney, Feb. 14-17, 2019; and “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare, April 11-14, 2019.

Information about auditions for spring productions is provided below. All auditions will take place in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts. Students may sign up for audition times on the callboard behind the Mary Linn Auditorium in the Houston Center.

No student parts are available for “Love Letters,” a two-person show that will feature Professor of Theatre Dr. Theo Ross and Kansas City actress Kathleen Warfel.

Spring auditions schedule

Tuesday, Jan. 15

“Macbeth,” 6:30-8:30 p.m. Auditions are open to all students, regardless of major. The audition requires one dramatic Shakespearean monologue under one minute for majors or individuals wishing to prepare material in advance. Readings will be provided for non-majors.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

“Macbeth” callbacks, 6 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 17

“A Spring Evening of One-Acts” (featuring “No Time” by Laurence Klavan and “Post-Its: Notes on a Marriage” by Winnie Holzman and Paul Dooley), 6:30-8:30 p.m. The audition requires one contemporary dramatic monologue and one contemporary comedic monologue, under two minutes total. Cold readings will be available for non-majors.

Friday, Jan. 18

“A Spring Evening of One-Acts” callbacks, 5:30 p.m.
