Amount raised for the Academic Excellence campaign component:

Profession-based experiences drive academic excellence at Northwest.

The Agricultural Learning Center is a linchpin addition to the University’s R.T. Wright Farm that sets Northwest on an unprecedented path to meet anticipated growth in the agriculture industry.

Decades in the making, Northwest’s vision for a multipurpose facility where students, consumers and producers can partner to strategize solutions for food systems came to fruition July 30, 2021, when the University opened the doors of its Agricultural Learning Center. The 29,500-square-foot facility enhances the School of Agricultural Sciences and its curriculum, which today offers programs in agricultural business, agricultural education, agricultural media, agricultural science, agronomy and animal science.

To help the School meet enrollment and program growth, the Agricultural Learning Center features laboratories, a kitchen, classrooms, study spaces and offices as well as a large exposition space and an outdoor education plaza.

Additionally, it addresses infrastructure needs at the 448-acre Wright Farm related to academic facilities, parking and farm production. It enables further innovation and partnerships while addressing best practices for the Northwest campus and agricultural sciences.

Homesteaders are leadership donors who partnered with the University to give $25,000 or more to make the Agricultural Learning Center a reality.
