Dear Northwest Missouri State University alumni and friends,
Bearcat alumni had another wonderful year gathering at football tailgates, basketball “tablegates,” chapter meetings and events. We welcomed a new class of Bearcat alumni in both December and May at graduation ceremonies with the May ceremonies held outdoors at Bearcat Stadium. The Tourin’ Bearcats travel program visited Scotland in May with 41 alumni and friends exploring amazing castles and islands during the trip.
The Northwest Alumni Association once again hosted the annual Northwest Night at the St. Joseph Mustangs baseball game, a Kansas City Royals baseball game and a Sporting KC soccer game. We also had some new gatherings in Minneapolis, Minn., Lincoln, Neb., and Phoenix, Ariz., in 2023.
The Northwest Alumni Association, under the direction of President Matt Gaarder, ’97 is already planning our annual Alumni Awards Banquet in April 2024 to honor seven outstanding Northwest alumni, friends and faculty. We will also be visiting Texas in February 2024 to organize gatherings for Bearcat alumni and friends in the Lone Star State.
The Tourin’ Bearcats will be traveling to Spain for 12 days starting May 24, 2024. We expect to have 44 travelers going to see this beautiful area of the world, and we are excited to have Northwest President Dr. Lance Tatum and his wife, Jill, joining us on the trip.
We also want to hear from you on ideas of interest for alumni activities, whether it be socials, trips, helping with recruiting future Bearcats or more events for local chapters.
