Watercolor portions: Notes in ink identify colors & placement of them in addition to what is painted; flag on bowsprit pole is labeled "a Jack"; paper was folded in center, new torn along fold. In ink across end: "Ships & Steam Boats-Portraits of" in Thompson's hand, possibly a project not realized.
