Student employment provides valuable hands-on experience, helps build professional skills, and supports personal and career growth throughout your time at Northwest.
After you’ve been hired, watch for an email from Human Resources sent to your Northwest email account. This message will guide you through the Employment Authorization Paperwork Process, including which forms to complete and what documents to bring with you to the Human Resources office.
You must complete this process before you can start working on campus, so check your email regularly and follow the instructions carefully.
Prior to your first day of work, you will receive an email invitation to join a canvas course for student employment orientation. You are required to complete all modules to 100%.
You'll be paid for completing the orientation. Check with your supervisor to find out whether you should complete it at work or home, and don't forget to record your hours on your timesheet.
Most student positions earn $10.30 per hour. Students are paid on the 25th of each month. If the 25th falls on a weekend or holiday, payment will be made on the business day prior.
Please note that earnings are paid one month after work is completed. For example, if you begin working in September, your first paycheck will arrive on October 25.
