Matching Gifts

Did you know your gift could go even further? Many corporations are eager to support the causes their employees care about. Through matching gift programs, they'll match your donation to our university dollar for dollar—and sometimes even more.

This is a powerful opportunity to amplify your support. Check with your human resources department or your spouse's employer to see if your gift is eligible for a match.

Along with matching monetary donations, some corporations will match volunteer hours with a cash amount. Even gifts to Northwest from persons other than employees of a company are eligible for corporate matches, including:

• non-employee directors of a company
• retired employees
• spouses
• spouses of retired employees, and
• widows or widowers of retired employees

To find out if you or your spouse's employer will match your gift, talk with your human resources office or visit our online lookup site.

If the company matches, here's the game plan:

1. Obtain a matching gift form from the human resources office
2. Fill it out completely
3. Send the matching gift form along with your donation to:

Your portion of the gift is 100 percent tax deductible as allowed by law, and your employer will also receive a tax deduction for its portion of the gift.
