Jay is a dynamic professional and spiritual leader currently working as a business, leadership, and life coach. In addition to his coaching practice, he is deepening his commitment to faith and community service as an Ordained Deacon for the Diocese of Kansas City and St. Joseph. A niche within his coaching practice serves members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City where he also serves on their Foundation Board. In his spare time, Jay enjoys gardening, bike riding, hiking, kayaking, reading and fly-fishing.
Before launching his coaching career, Jay spent 35+ successful years with DST Output and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas City, where he honed his expertise in operational excellence and process improvement as a certified Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt.
His foundational skills in leadership and mentorship trace back to his college days, where he was highly involved on campus as a Residential Life RA, Blue Key, Accounting Society, a Student Ambassador, and a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. At home, Jay is a proud husband to his wife, Mary, and a dedicated father to their three sons, Billy, Josh, and Nate.
“Northwest played a formative role in my life, shaping my early leadership and giving me a community that set the foundation for my career, my coaching work, and ministry. I’m interested in serving on the Foundation Board because I want to give back to the institution that invested so deeply in me and help ensure future students have access to the same transformational experiences. With decades of leadership, service, and mentorship behind me, I’m ready to contribute to Northwest’s mission in a meaningful way.”
