Connie is a dynamic entrepreneur, owner of Bowen Bookkeeping and the CEO of Yum Yo's Frozen Treats, a venture she leads following a distinguished 32-year career with Tyson Foods. A passionate community advocate, Connie lends her time and leadership to an impressive array of philanthropic causes. Her extensive regional service includes supporting Girl Scouts Camp Ozark, the United Way, local children’s and women's shelters, and the Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Food Bank. She is also deeply involved in health advocacy and youth mentorship through her work with Susan G. Komen, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Arkansas PanCan organization, and NWA Purple Stride.
Connie shares a proud family legacy as the niece of Bearcat, Rita Kay Thomas. At home, she and her husband, Brad, share a rewarding family life with their five sons, ranging in age from 16 to 30, and their six granddaughters.
“It would be an honor for me to serve on the Northwest Foundation Board to follow in the footsteps of my aunt Kay. She was a mentor, role model and someone I looked up to as a businesswoman. Now that I am "semi-retired" and able to manage my own schedule, I have the time to dedicate to making a difference in the lives of students who want to further their education and contribute to meeting the goals of Northwest.”
