Pass-Through Scholarships

A pass-through scholarship, which ideally begins at $1,000, passes from the donor, through the Northwest Foundation, to Northwest’s Office of Financial Assistance, where it is then awarded to a student. Unlike an endowed scholarship, a pass-through scholarship is not a permanent fund and is awarded only as long as you (or others) choose to contribute to the fund.

By establishing or supporting a scholarship, a donor can:

  • Leave a personal legacy, or that of a loved one, at a University that made an impact on their life
  • Invest in future generations of Bearcats
  • Assist students with extreme financial need or students who excel academically
  • Reward students pursuing a specified academic field of study
  • Directly assist with Northwest's recruitment and retention efforts
  • Help create long-term financial stability for Northwest

As you can see, there are many reasons to establish a scholarship and we thank all of our current donors. Many of their stories can be found by visiting the Donor Biography Listing, which provides more information about the scholarships offered from Northwest’s generous donors.
