What is Bearcat Advantage?

Bearcat Advantage is an opportunity for out-of-state students not from Kansas, Iowa or Nebraska to earn in-state tuition rates. This program can save new students $9,000 per year!

Bearcat Advantage Eligibility Requirements

The scholarship is available to first-time freshmen and transfer students who live outside Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska or Kansas with a 2.75 GPA and above.

Renewal Requirements

  • Maximum award: 132 total Northwest credit hours earned
  • Out-of-state students can earn IN-STATE rates with the Bearcat Advantage. To renew, students must complete 24 hours per academic year at Northwest and maintain a 3.00 Northwest cumulative GPA.
  • Stackable with merit-based freshman scholarships.
  • Over $36,000 value if renewed for four years
  • 100% waiver of out-of-state tuition
    (Estimate based on 30 credit hours per year)

Are you from Iowa, Nebraska or Kansas? 

Students from Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska are eligible to receive Missouri's in-state tuition rates at Northwest through the In-State Rate Guarantee.
