Northwest Missouri State University’s School of Computer Science and Information Systems invites high school students who enjoy solving complex problems to test their skills and win prizes during “The Most Awesome Northwest-KC Programming Contest” this spring.

The contest is from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Northwest-Kansas City, 6889 North Oak Trafficway in Gladstone, Missouri.

Standard International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) rules will apply as teams of three people will be allowed to use one computer and any printed resources. Languages will include C, C++, Java and Python. Copilot and other AI tools cannot be used. The contest will last three hours during the afternoon after a morning practice session and lunch.

The contest is free and open to all high school students in the Kansas City region. The contest is limited to three teams per school and a total of 28 teams.
