  • Served as one of five instructors for Associated Collegiate Press' 2012 summer workshop in multimedia journalism. In three days, the five instructors gathered 50 high school and college journalism students at ACP headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn., provided them with training and equipment, and by the end of the workshop produced a 20-page digital newspaper, website, YouTube channel, Facebook page and comprehensive Twitter feed that covered Minneapolis' news, entertainment and sporting events for the three days of the workshop. Honors and Awards

  • Named Missouri College Media Association Adviser of the Year in April 2016 at the MCMA annual convention in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
  • Received the Outstanding Service Award from the Southeast Journalism Conference for service as Vice President from 2008-2010 and running the annual Best of the South journalism competition
  • Named College Media Advisers Distinguished Four-Year Newspaper Adviser, October 2005
