Time:  4:00-5:00pm, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month (2/13, 2/27, 3/13, 3/27, 4/10, and 4/24)

In 1960 the University of Minnesota founded the first campus-based women’s center and in the years to follow. Many more universities followed suit. These campus women’s centers played a large role in increasing institutional support for women-identified individuals on campus, although in many ways gender-discrimination is a reality still today.

While Northwest doesn’t have an official Women’s Center space on campus, we are providing an opportunity to advance discussions of intersectional and gender-based oppression while also offering social support and cultivating empowerment for women-identified individuals on campus. At the Pop-Up Women’s Center, you bring the questions or topics and we will have the discussion! Bring your snacks, or even your knitting project, and join us. It is an affirming place for women and for all members of the Northwest community who actively resist sexism and intersecting forms of oppression.
