Northwest Missouri State University’s Madraliers will host their 46th Annual Yuletide Feaste with an elegant royal meal and performances by the Madraliers chamber choir, the Recorder Consort, the Lord Houston’s Players and the Royale Brass Quintet.

The Yuletide Feaste features the Madraliers and other cast members performing in a setting reminiscent of a Renaissance banquet hall.

The Feaste takes place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom.

“The Yuletide Feaste is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together and usher in the holiday season,” Dr. Brian Lanier, professor of music and conductor of the Madraliers, said. “The atmosphere at the event is magical. As guests enter, they will hear carols ringing throughout the building. Decorations highlight the staircase, and the upper floor of the Union building sparkles with banners, greenery and wreaths. The entire experience is truly one that is meaningful and brings together the community, the campus and friends from surrounding towns and cities.”

Tickets are $32 and may be purchased by check or cash in the office of the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. Credit or debit card orders may be placed online at www.nwmissouri.edu/finearts/music/yuletide.htm.

Attendance is limited to 320 guests each evening, and all tickets are reserved. No tickets will be sold at the door.

At the Yuletide Feaste, guests celebrate and rediscover Christmas through the evening’s programs and festivities, highly stylized after old England. The menu, performances and decorations are reminiscent of 16th century Tudor England.

The menu includes wassail, herbed cream cheese salami horns, rosemary spiced mixed nuts and cheese cubes, carved steamship au jus with horseradish sauce, pan seared chicken breast with bacon, mushroom and sherry cream, rice pilaf, California blend vegetables, parmesan and garlic butter corn, dinner rolls with cranberry butter and cranberry Bundt cake with white chocolate glaze and sugared cranberries.

The Madraliers choral ensemble is a select group, consisting of 36 undergraduate and graduate students representing a variety of disciplines and majors at Northwest. In recent years, the choir has been invited to perform for prestigious choral organizations, including the American Choral Directors Association and the Missouri Music Educators Association. During the spring, the same students become Celebration, the show choir for the University.
