Northwest Missouri State University alumni and friends are invited to enjoy a fun-filled evening at the ballpark during the ninth annual Northwest Night at the St. Joseph Mustangs, Saturday, June 8.
The baseball game featuring the St. Joseph Mustangs and the Nevada Griffons begins at 7 p.m. at Phil Welch Stadium, 2600 SW Parkway in St. Joseph, Missouri. Alumni and friends also are invited to a tailgate party from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Northwest Alumni Association tent outside the stadium. Fans also may enjoy fireworks at the stadium after the game.
“During the past nine years, the Northwest Night at the St. Joe Mustangs event has turned into a great event to kick off the summer,” Bob Machovsky, director of alumni relations and annual giving at the University, said. “Alumni and friends really enjoy this event, and we have set several Mustangs stadium attendance records. The tailgate barbecue, the ball game and the fireworks after the game really makes it a great night for everyone.”
The St. Joseph Mustangs are members of the M.I.N.K. Baseball League, a summer collegiate baseball league that includes eight teams from Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. For more information about the St. Joseph Mustangs, visit www.stjoemustangs.com.

The Northwest Alumni Association has 300 free tickets available for reservation to Northwest fans.
Additional game tickets will be available to purchase through the Northwest Alumni Association for a discounted price after all free tickets are redeemed.

Tickets must be picked up by 6:30 p.m. on the night of the game at the green Northwest Alumni Association tent at the tailgate party.
Look for the Northwest Alumni Association tent outside of the stadium between 5 and 6:30 p.m. to join the pregame festivities. The tailgate party will feature a meal catered by Hy-Vee, which will include the choice of a hot dog for $5 or hamburger for $6; both meal options include chips, cookie and a drink.
Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and may organize their own traditional tailgating prior to the game.
The Northwest Office of Admissions will be at the tailgate to connect with high school students interested in Northwest. The office will answer questions and provide more information about Northwest and all it has to offer.
