Tourin’ Bearcats heading to Greece in spring 2020

Northwest Missouri State University’s Tourin’ Bearcats, a travel program for alumni and friends, is now accepting reservations for its “Classical Greece” next spring.

The Greece excursion is Feb. 23 through March 3, 2020. Guests will travel to Athens, Greece to experience the ruins of ancient Greece.

The Northwest Alumni Association will host a travel preview night to provide more information about the trip at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at A&G Restaurant, 208 N Main St. in Maryville. All attendees will receive a Northwest alumni travel cooler bag and complementary appetizers. RSVP to attend by calling 660.562.1112 or send an email to rmachov@nwmissouri.edu.

Highlights of the Greece tour include the Byzantine monasteries in Meteora, Delphi museum, Athens, Temple of Zeus, the Royal Palace, Olympic Stadium and the Acropolis.

“This trip is really packed with the best things to do and see in Greece,” Bob Machovsky, director of alumni relations and annual giving at the University, said. “Traveling with the Tourin’ Bearcats program really takes the stress out of trip planning, as we do all the work for our travelers. This program is a great opportunity to connect with other Bearcats while going to see some of the best and most exciting places in the world. Many travelers have gone on past trips and signed up again because of the friendships made while on the trip.”

Prices begin at $3,819 per person and are subject to change. A deposit of $500 must be turned in with the reservation by Aug 23. The final payment is due by Dec. 21 2019.

The trip includes round trip airfare, transportation to and from Maryville to Kansas City International Airport, eight breakfasts, one lunch and six dinners.

Rates are based on double occupancy and departure from KCI. Trip insurance is available for purchase. Taxes and fees on airline tickets are subject to change until issued.

Tourin’ Bearcats programs, which are sponsored by the Northwest Alumni Association and Northwest’s National Public Radio affiliate KXCV-KRNW, are available to the public.
