Lees attends national advocacy event for international educators

Erika Lees, an international involvement specialist in Northwest Missouri State University’s Office of International Affairs, attended the NAFSA: Association of International Educators Advocacy Day March 18-19 in Washington, D.C.

Lees received a travel grant through NAFSA Region IV to attend the event, which allowed her to address policies that impact international students and scholars. She attended a training session that provided participants with tools to educate Congress about how international education impacts Missouri and its district.

Lees also led a small group of students to International Education Day at the Missouri capitol on April 10. 

Lees joined the Northwest staff in 2015 and has a bachelor’s degree from the University in history.
