Northwest Missouri State University’s Blue Key and Cardinal Key honor societies on Wednesday crowned Diego Fasani as their 2019 Tower King and Tatum Branson as Tower Queen during a ceremony at the Memorial Bell Tower.
Fasani is a junior from Raymore, Missouri, majoring in accounting and corporate finance. He is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and the Interfraternity Council’s vice president of scholarship and finance.
Branson, also from Raymore, Missouri, graduates this spring with a degree in Spanish education. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, Student Ambassadors and Bearcat Steppers.
“They are both fantastic students and friends, and their involvement on campus has contributed to bettering Northwest in so many ways,” Taylor Felz, a junior management and marketing major from Raymore, Missouri, and Cardinal Key president, said. “Cardinal Key and Blue Key are proud to be able to honor these two for all of their achievements during their time at Northwest.”
The Tower King and Queen program is organized each spring by Blue Key and Cardinal Key to recognize Northwest students who excel academically while exhibiting high involvement at Northwest and in the Maryville community.
Campus organizations nominate one king and one queen, who then participate in an application and interview process resulting in the selection of candidates to fill the Tower court. The king and queen are selected by the student body during a week of online voting.
